Keep yer hands off my guns, Mister United Nations busybody
U.S. gun lobby raises stink over UN disarmament effort

From The Economist

Duku Paul does not know how many people he has killed. Thougah still young, he is a veteran of one of West Africa’s nastiest civil wars. For more than a decade, he helped to burn, loot and bloody his homeland, Liberia.

Then, in 2003, the United Nations, with American backing, brought peace. Bangladeshi blue helmets took Paul’s gun and gave him $300.

Interviewed last year, he said he was sorry that he ever became a soldier, and that he wanted to get back to school. Paul was enrolled in what the United Nations calls a "disarmament, demobilization, rehabilitation and reintegration" program.

The world body is keen to promote such programs wherever appropriate. The National Rifle Association (NRA), the lobby for American gun-lovers, does not like the sound of that.

"So, after we are disarmed, the UN wants us demobilized and reintegrated. I can hear it now: ‘Step right this way for your reprogramming, sir. Once we confiscate your guns, we can demobilize your aggressive instincts and reintegrate you into civil society.’ No thanks," shudders Wayne LaPierre, the indefatigable executive vice-president of the NRA.

Why does the UN want to take away Americans’ guns?

Because it is a club of governments, some of which want to "strip opposition forces of the means to challenge their authority," argues LaPierre.

During the 20th century, governments murdered 169 million people in various parts of the world, he says. Individual gun ownership is the "ultimate protection against tyranny."

LaPierre was signing copies of his new book, The Global War on Your Guns: Inside the UN Plan to Destroy the Bill of Rights, at the NRA’s annual convention in Milwaukee on May 19-21.

What do rank-and-file members think?

Joe Carlson, a rifle salesman, is serenely unaware of the threat.

"I’d not heard about that," he says."I’ve been so busy selling these (award-winning semi-automatic weapons). I’d better take a look."

Others are better informed. "All these pirate governments want to take from people their rights. That’s wrong," says Greg Johnson, who runs a lodge in Michigan where you can shoot imported Russian wild boars.

For both men, their livelihoods are at stake. Johnson’s customers can, it is true, hunt wild boars with "stick and string" (i.e., a bow and arrows).

But most would prefer to bring their favourite firearm, for those "raging Russian" boars are fierce.

"If you hunt him, he’ll hunt you," says Johnson, adding that it is the kind of beast that was running around in the Dark Ages. Yes, "It’s one primordial pork chop."

Carlson’s position is even more precarious.

The guns he sells are more powerful than the M-4 rifles that the army uses. (As any gun-lover knows, with the M-4, "there’s a problem with one-shot kills," says Carlson: i.e., soldiers are finding it tricky to take out distant targets with a single shot.)

Under Bill Clinton, they were labelled "assault rifles" (inaccurately, in Carlson’s view) and banned. Congress let the ban lapse in 2004. If "the wrong people" are elected, says Carlson, they’d ban them again in a heartbeat.

The NRA, like so many conservative American groups, has long detested the United Nations. But LaPierre’s claim that it is "the biggest coming threat" to gun lovers represents a new emphasis.

It reflects, in part, his organization’s astonishing success at home.

The second amendment is in "the best shape it’s been in for decades," says LaPierre.

"Gun haters" consistently lose elections.

The president and both houses of Congress are solidly pro-gun. Last year Congress passed legislation protecting gun manufacturers from "frivolous" lawsuits. Of the 50 states, only two — Wisconsin and Illinois — refuse to let law-abiding citizens carry concealed firearms.

Challenges remain, of course. During the post-hurricane lawlessness in New Orleans last year, the police confiscated a number of legally held firearms from civilians.

In May, the NRA urged every mayor and police chief in America to pledge never to disarm law-abiding citizens.

The governor of Wisconsin, Jim Doyle, has twice vetoed a law that would have allowed licensed citizens to carry concealed handguns. Gun owners are urged to "Dump Doyle," among others, at the midterm elections in November.

For a truly all-embracing threat, however, the UN is hard to beat. LaPierre predicts that the "global war on guns" will boost the NRA’s membership from four million to eight million, and reduce Hillary Clinton’s chances of becoming president in 2008.

This last point is crucial. The UN, whatever its evil aims, is hardly in a position to push Uncle Sam around.

To disarm Americans, it would need Congress on its side, plus an American president willing to sign an anti-gun treaty and appoint Supreme Court justices willing to rule it constitutional.

LaPierre anticipates that some people might find this far-fetched.

"I can hear some readers now: ‘Oh, Wayne’s just over-reacting,’ " he writes. "But that is what they want you to believe. "

"Just how sure is the United Nations that it can take your guns?" he asks. His answer: "The UN chose the Fourth of July to hold its global gun ban summit on American soil!"

Globalist Study Says Citizens Want A World Government - June 25/2007
Elites brag that people want UN to police the world and save them from evil America

An "in depth" study by a core globalist body and also funded in part by all manner of elitist groups and corporations, including the Rockefellers and the Ford Foundation, has found that the people of the world want a global government with a standing army to police the planet.

The study (PDF link) has been jointly released by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and WorldPublicOpinion.org who say that based on a survey conducted in 18 countries, the majority of people approve of strengthening the UN while rejecting the idea that the US should continue to be the preeminent world leader. Gun owners accuse UN of July 4 conspiracy - By Irwin Arieff

[You should be worried. The "Liberal" party of Canada has already committed itself to

banning handguns, and in case you missed it, the gun registry is for the purpose of future

confiscation. Don't let the alleged federal government convince you that you no longer have

a right to defend yourself lawfully with a firearm.]

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Americans mistakenly worried the United Nations is plotting to take away their guns on July 4 -- U.S. Independence Day -- are flooding the world body with angry letters and postcards, the chairman of a U.N. conference on the illegal small arms trade said on Wednesday.

"I myself have received over 100,000 letters from the U.S. public, criticizing me personally, saying, 'You are having this conference on the 4th of July, you are not going to get our guns on that day,"' said Prasad Kariyawasam, Sri Lanka's U.N. ambassador.

"That is a total misconception as far as we are concerned," Kariyawasam told reporters ahead of the two-week meeting opening on Monday.

For one, July 4 is a holiday at U.N. headquarters and the world body's staff will be watching a fireworks display from the U.N. lawn rather than attending any meetings, he said.

For another, the U.N. conference will look only at illegal arms and "does not in any way address legal possession," a matter left to national governments to regulate rather than the United Nations, he added.

The campaign is largely the work of the U.S. National Rifle Association, whose executive vice president, Wayne LaPierre, warns on an NRA Web site (http://www.stopungunban.org/) of a July 4 plot "to finalize a U.N. treaty that would strip all citizens of all nations of their right to self-protection."

Kariyawasam said, "The U.N. conference will not negotiate any treaty to prohibit citizens of any country from possessing firearms or to interfere with the legal trade in small arms and light weapons."

U.N. CONSPIRACY -- OR STRONGER CONTROLS?

LaPierre, who also uses the site to pitch his new book, "The Global War on Your Guns," asks NRA members to send letters to Kariyawasam and U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan warning that "the American people will never let you take away the rights that our 4th of July holiday represents."

The group also asks members to write to John Bolton, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, urging him to "ensure the defeat of this treaty." Bolton's office confirmed he had received tens of thousands of cards from concerned Americans.

"We understand their concerns and will work during the conference to communicate their concerns," Bolton spokesman Richard Grenell said.

At the same time, 1 million people around the world -- symbolizing the number of people killed by guns since the last U.N. small arms conference in 2001 -- have signed a petition backing stronger controls on arms deals in a campaign organized by Oxfam International, Amnesty International and the International Action Network on Small Arms.

The June 26-July 7 U.N. conference was called to review a 2001 U.N. action plan aimed at stemming the illegal global trade in small arms, which, as defined by the United Nations, range from pistols and grenades to mortars and shoulder-fired anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles.

The action program set out broad guidelines for national and global measures to track arms sales, promote better management of government arms stockpiles and encourage the destruction of illicit arms.

Beware of the Trojan Horse.

Supposing "UN" forces are sent into Canada and the US to confiscate [steal] everyone's firearms under a false flag martial law program - for which laws are already on the books - just who's army is likely to enforce such an order?

Well despite what you may think, US military personnel have already trained for this exact scenario [Urban Warrior Drills - see below logos], AND did it "real life" after Hurricane Katrina.

In 1999 radio talk show host Alex Jones traveled to Oakland California to cover the Marine Corps execution of Operation Urban Warrior. Thousands of Marines openly trained to biometrically scan American citizens, separate the men, women and children in a concentration camp environment, and conduct interrogations. Video in his film, Police State 2000 shows Marine Corps officers questioning role-players who were posing as American resistance fighters. Loudspeakers informed the population of the mock camp filled with hundreds of role-players, that if they tried to escape or resist they would be killed.

Apocalyptic Video Game Features Global Government Takeover

Paul Joseph Watson/Prison Planet | November 30 2005

A new video game now available for X Box and PC depicts an apocalyptic vision of America after the year 2008 where terror attacks carried out by anti-government militias force the European Union to send in an occupying army. How likely is a real life scenario?

Reporter: "So far the plan is for most of the city's 250,000 residents to return in stages and first only a few thousand will be let in.

They'll be fingerprinted, given a retina scan and then an ID card, which will only allow them to travel around their homes or to nearby aid centers which are now being built.

The Marines will be authorized to use deadly force against those breaking the rules....Tom?"

Now there is another possible option coming into view.

The "government of Canada" has recently instigated a new "goodwill" program, with of all people, the Chinese military. Evidence of this recently arrived in Victoria, BC as this photo [below] demonstrates.

Meanwhile, China continues to put to death Christians and members of other faiths, as well as openly selling the organs of those executed, to the highest bidder. [Read more about this HERE]

UN Wants Final Word on Rearing Your Kids - Jan 21/2008

While pressing senators to reject the Law of the Sea Treaty, or LOST, patriots should also urge rejection of another “convention” sent to the chamber by Bilderberg President Bill Clinton that has been lurking since 1995. If the Senate ratifies the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the world body, not parents, will decide how to rear children.
